Covid-19 Office Procedures
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, optometric offices were closed by the government of Saskatchewan on March 23, 2020, except for all non-elective (i.e. emergency/sight threatening) procedures. The government of Saskatchewan announced Re-Open Saskatchewan on April 23, 2020 and stated that as of May 4, 2020 optometric offices can reopen under strict Medical Professional Guidelines.
The Saskatchewan Association of Optometrists has released Clinical Guidelines for their members to follow upon reopening their offices for optometric services. The following are the procedures in effect in our office.
Patient examinations
- All patients must sanitize their hands upon entering the office. We strongly urge all patients to wear a mask while in the office.
- Staff will contact you prior to your exam to verify personal information, medication, allergies, etc.
Spectacle and contact lens pickups
- Appointments will be required to pick up spectacles and contact lenses to ensure no more than 15 patients are in the office at one time.
- Curbside pickup can be arranged in our front entrance to minimize person-to-person contact and maintain physical distancing.
Spectacle adjustments
- Appointments will be required for spectacle adjustments.
- All patients must sanitize their hands upon entering the office. We strongly urge all patients to wear a mask while in the office.
